Dr Philippa Hodgins - MBBS(Hons),DipRACOG, DipPaed, FRACGP, FACPsychMed

Philippa has been a general practitioner here at KSGP since 1988. Her particular medical interests include Family Medicine, Women’s Health, Mental Health, Skin Cancer and Aged Care.

Philippa is also a keen bushwalker and birdwatcher.
Other hobbies include cycling and swimming.

Dr Peter Hopkins – MBBS(Hons), MMedSc(EPI), FRACGP

Peter started at KSGP in 1991 with black hair.
His special interests are Travel Medicine, Acupuncture, Medical Education, Medical Politics and Hair Colouring.
His hobbies include tennis, basketball and travel.

Dr Craig Barnett – BAppSc, BMed(Hons),FRACGP

Dr Barnett has been with King Street General Practice since 1998.
Dr Barnett has a special interest in Commercial and Corporate Medicine, Rail & Pre-employment Medicals.

Dr Bridget Daniel – MBBS, Dip RACOG

Bridget Daniel has been a GP at this practice since 1993. Her main areas of interest are Women's Health including Antenatal Care, and Diving Medicals.
She is married with three children.
Her other great love is skiing.

Dr Cathryn Wilson – BMed(Hons), FRACGP

Cathryn has been working at KSGP as a General Practitioner since 2004.
Cathryn enjoys all aspects of Family Medicine, in particular Women’s Health and Child Health.
She is also interested in teaching and is involved in supervision of medical students from the University of Newcastle.

Dr Jaimie Navalli – BMed(Hons), FRACGP

Jamie has been a General Practitioner at KSGP since 2005. She has an interest in Women’s Health, Childhood Diseases, Travel Medicine and Preventative Health Care.
She is currently working part-time at KSGP and GP Access After Hours.

Dr Michelle Watts – BMed, FRACGP

Dr Michelle Watts studied at Newcastle University, and after 13 years now considers herself a Novocastrian.

She loves good coffee, good books and her three children (who make the former two a rare treat).

Dr Joanne Wood – MBBS, FRACGP

Joanne Wood has been at KSGP since early 2011 after moving to Newcastle. Her interests include all areas of Family Medicine, including Chronic Disease Management, Preventative Health, Aboriginal Health and Paediatrics.

Jo is a mum to three children

Dr Robert Hungerford - BMed, FRACGP

Rob graduated from Newcastle University and has been working in the Hunter for the last 5 years. He has a wide range of interests including Family medicine, Skin Cancer, Sports Medicine and Travel Medicine. He has worked with the West Indian and Sri Lankan Cricket teams and is currently one of the Medical directors overseeing ACT Cricket.

He enjoys all sports, spending time outdoors and pretends to be a carpenter in his spare time.

Dr Robert Forsyth – BSc MD, CCFP (EM) FRACGP

Rob originally came to Newcastle in 2001 after completing his Canadian training in both Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine. He worked in the HNE Local Health district for a few years and then returned to practice a combination of Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine in Vancouver, Canada. Keen to live near our great beaches, Rob & his family returned to Newcastle in 2012. Rob was initially working as an Emergency physician at Maitland Hospital but has moved on and joined KSGP in 2014. Rob enjoys all aspects of family medicine and has an interest in skin lesions, travel medicine and men’s health. When not at work, Rob will be in the surf or entertaining his kids.


Dr Georgina Finney – BSc (Hons), MBBS (Hons)

Georgina has joined the team at KSGP in November 2014 after being on maternity leave. Her interests include women’s health and preventative medicine. Outside of work she is busy looking after her 4 young children and enjoys spending time with her family in the outdoors…hiking, bike-riding, surfing…


Dr Amanda Brownlow - BMed, MPH

Amanda obtained her medical degree and first years of hospital experience in Newcastle, but left to explore both her career and options and the wider world. Deciding after a few years to specialise in general practice, the awesome lifestyle she remembered here in Newcastle quickly drew her back. When not at work, she can be found cycling the Fernleigh Track, hunting out a new spot for coffee, or enjoying home renovations.


Dr Catherine Lau – BMed, FRACGP

Catherine grew up in Newcastle and graduated from Newcastle University. She is interested in all aspects of General Practice, in particular mental health, paediatrics and Travel Medicine. In her spare time, Catherine enjoys looking after her pet animals, spending time outdoors at the beach, as well as a good book or movie.


Dr Jaskiran Kaur - MBBS

Jas is a proud Queenslander and grew up in tropical north Queensland. She graduated from James Cook University in Townsville. She is interested in all aspects of General Practice, in particular Antenatal care and Palliative medicine. Jas enjoys spending time on the beach, watching footy and shopping.


Dr Emma Mather – BMed, FRACGP

Emma joined the team at KSGP in 2016 after being on maternity leave. She is interested in all aspects of General Practice, in particular mental health, Aboriginal health, antenatal care, paediatrics and geriatrics. Emma grew up in Newcastle and graduated from Newcastle University. In her spare time she enjoys reading and going to the beach.
